Major Sheffield Student / Co-living scheme approved by planners

September 2018

The scheme comprises four linked blocks and rises to 15 storeys in part and will occupy a prominent corner gateway site opposite The Moor central shopping area.

The project was granted consent at Committee on 23rd July and the Section 106 Planning Agreement has now been completed securing the consent.

The scheme has been sold to Fusion Student Living, a leading national owner operator. Fusion were joint applicants and managed the application process.

A spokesman for Litton Buccleuch said “We are delighted to have now secured consent and to have sold the scheme to Fusion who we believe will bring a new level of student offer to Sheffield on this prime, central site. This will be a gateway scheme.”

The circa £80 million scheme will now start on site in early 2019 in view of planning delays but will be completed in the summer of 2021 ready for that year’s student intake.

Litton Buccleuch is a joint venture between Bakewell based Litton Property Group and Edinburgh based Buccleuch Properties.
